Song Review: Fake It

“Fake It” is the latest track to released from Bastille‘s eagerly anticipated second album Wild World. The song is opened with a movie dialogue sequence that sets the scene and adds a layer of depth giving ‘Fake It’ a more well-rounded feel.

“Fake It” takes inspiration from a variety of music genres that are then layered together making it difficult to pigeon-hole including somber pop beats, hip hop influences and R+B falsetto sighs that give the song a sultry feel.

A strong drum beat and percussion bring depth and intrigue to this  emotional song melded with distinctive melancholy lyrics from frontman Dan Smith.

Filled with catchy lyrics and experimental synth sounds, Bastille definitely don’t need to try their “very best to fake it” as this track has it all.
