Song of the Week: Jealousy

I remember seeing Robert DeLong at two festivals back in May 2015. I had no idea who this dude was. I was there to see other bands at both fests. At the first festival, I didn’t quite know what to think of him. Two weeks later, I was completely captivated with him. I had had one of his songs stuck in my head that entire two weeks, and couldn’t find it anywhere online. That song was “Jealousy” and it hadn’t been released yet, and man was I glad to hear it again.
An earworm if there ever was one, “Jealousy” is one of those songs that you’ll have stuck in your head for weeks (literally). There’s no other way to listen to this song than loud. I remember the day it was finally released on Robert’s sophomore album, In The Cards. Pandora did an advanced stream of the album and I screamed when I realized I would get to hear it early. I listened to it probably ten times before checking out any of the other songs. Trust me, it’s that good.

Robert DeLong will set out on his February headlining tour in just one week. This electronic musician from LA has one of the most incredible live experiences and his shows are not to be missed.

DeLong is a one-man band, playing every instrument himself. While he is a skilled guitarist and pianist, his real talent lies in percussion. DeLong is a superb percussionist, always incorporating mind-blowing drum solos into his live shows. While he does play many percussion instruments that you would normally see on stage, DeLong also utilizes objects such as Xbox controllers and Wii remotes to create his music. His one-man show takes place in front of personalized graphics displayed on screens behind him, making it a truly unique concert experience.
